The IT8500+ series (150W – 3000W) single – channel programmable DC electronic loads are engineered for middle – to – high – end applications. Tailored to meet diverse customer design and testing requirements, these loads offer a comprehensive range of functions and features, making them an ideal choice for various testing scenarios.
Key Features
- Four Operating Modes: The IT8500+ series supports four distinct operating modes – Constant Voltage (CV), Constant Current (CC), Constant Resistance (CR), and Constant Power (CP). This versatility allows users to simulate different load conditions, enabling accurate testing of power – related devices in various scenarios.
- Battery Test Function: It is equipped with a dedicated battery test function. When using the constant – current mode for battery discharge testing, users can set termination conditions such as “switch – off voltage value”, “switch – off capacity value”, and “discharge time”. Once any of these conditions is met, the discharge stops, and the load automatically switches to the OFF state. During the test, users can monitor the battery voltage, time elapsed, and the battery discharge capacity in real – time.
- Automatic and Special Test Functions: In addition to battery testing, it has an automatic test function, as well as Over – Power Protection (OPP) test and Over – Current Protection (OCP) test functions. Moreover, the CR – LED function provides additional functionality for specific applications.
- High – Resolution Measurements: With a voltage measurement resolution of up to 0.1mV / 0.1mA, the IT8500+ series offers highly accurate measurements. This level of precision is crucial for obtaining reliable data during testing, ensuring that even minor changes in voltage and current can be detected.
- Dynamic Mode: The dynamic mode of the IT8500+ series can reach up to 10KHz. It includes three sub – modes for dynamic testing:
- Continuous Mode: In continuous mode, when the dynamic test is activated, the load continuously switches between two set values (A and B). This is useful for simulating fluctuating load conditions and testing the power supply’s ability to respond to continuous changes.
- Pulse Mode: Under pulse mode, upon receiving a trigger signal, the load switches to the B value. It maintains this value for the set B pulse width time and then switches back to the A value. This mode is suitable for testing how power supplies react to pulsed loads.
- Toggle Mode: In the trigger mode, each time a trigger signal is received, the load toggles between the A and B values. This mode helps in evaluating the power supply’s performance under intermittent load changes.
- Remote Sense: The remote sense feature enables more accurate voltage measurement by compensating for voltage drops in the connecting wires. This is particularly important when testing devices at a distance from the load or when dealing with long cable runs.
- Short – Circuit Function: The built – in short – circuit function allows users to simulate short – circuit conditions, which is essential for testing the protection mechanisms of power supplies and other devices under such extreme conditions.
- Current Monitoring Function: This function enables real – time monitoring of the current flowing through the load. It provides users with valuable insights into the power consumption and performance of the device under test.
- Power – off Memory Function: The IT8500+ series has a power – off memory function. It can store the previous settings, so when powered on again, it can resume from the last configuration, saving users time and effort in re – setting the parameters.
- Large Memory Capacity: With a 100 – group memory capacity, users can save different test setups for future use. This is convenient for repeated tests or when switching between multiple testing scenarios.
- Optional Interfaces: It offers optional USB, RS232, and RS485 interfaces. Some models, like IT8513B+, IT8514B+, IT8514C+, and IT8516C+, even have built – in RS232 and USB interfaces. These interfaces facilitate easy connection to computers or other devices for remote control, data transfer, and integration into automated testing systems.
