The UTL8500 Series is a high – performance and cost – effective range of programmable DC electronic loads, catering to diverse needs in Education, Scientific Research, and Manufacturing.
1. General Specifications
- Measurement Resolution: Boasts a high – precision resolution of 0.1mV for voltage and 0.1mA for current, ensuring accurate measurements across various applications.
- Input Ranges: Offers a wide range of input capabilities. The voltage test range spans from 0 – 150V or 0 – 500V, the current test range is 0 – 15A/30A/120A, and the power test range covers 0 – 150W/300W/600W, accommodating different power requirements.
- Dynamic Frequency: Has a maximum dynamic frequency of 10kHz, enabling efficient testing in dynamic scenarios.
- Current Slew Rate: Features an adjustable current slew rate of up to 3.0A/μS, providing flexibility in simulating different load conditions.
- Connectivity: Comes with an RS232 communication interface as standard. Additional communication interfaces can be integrated based on specific design and testing needs.
- Size: With a ½ 2U size, it is compact and suitable for a variety of setups.
2. Display and Interface
Equipped with a 4.3 – inch LCD screen, it provides a clear and intuitive display of measurement results, settings, and operating status. This makes it easy for users to monitor and control the load during testing.
3. Test Modes
- Four Basic Modes: Supports four fundamental test modes – Constant Current (CC), Constant Voltage (CV), Constant Resistance (CR), and Constant Power (CP). In CC mode, the load maintains a constant current; CV mode stabilizes the voltage; CR mode keeps the resistance constant; and CP mode ensures a fixed power consumption.
- Rich Test Modes: To meet diverse testing requirements, it offers additional test modes. The dynamic test mode allows for the simulation of changing load conditions with adjustable lower and upper values, durations, and slope rates. The list test mode enables users to create sequences of up to 100 steps for complex testing scenarios. There are also combination tests, OCP/OPP tests for over – current and over – power protection verification, CR – LED tests for LED – related applications, battery tests for evaluating battery performance, load effect tests, OVP tests for over – voltage protection, short – circuit tests, and time – based tests.
4. Screenshot and File Management
The load has a convenient screenshot function. Pressing the [Screenshot] button saves the current screen image directly to a USB flash drive. It also allows users to save frequently used list test files in the internal Flash memory or on a USB flash drive for easy recall during subsequent testing. Additionally, the system can be quickly upgraded via the USB flash drive.
5. Protection Functions
Ensures the safety of the equipment and the devices under test with multiple protection mechanisms. These include over – voltage protection (OVP), low – voltage protection, over – current protection (OCP), over – power protection (OPP), over – heat protection, and anti – reverse connection protection. Each protection function can be configured with specific threshold values to meet different testing requirements.
